Wolverhampton Emergency Night Shelter Christmas Appeal

The lights are blazing; the shops are heaving. We’ve already had our fill of mince pies. It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. But we’re conscious that the season can feel lonely and bleak for many people. So this year, the credit union has committed to helping the Christmas campaign to provide 20 beds a night for rough sleepers in Tabernacle Baptist Church in Broad Street during the cold winter months of 2017.

A donation of just £5.00 will provide a bed for the night for a homeless person. The partnership between Grace Church Wolverhampton, Tabernacle Baptist Church, Hope into Action, Black Country and Wolverhampton Homeless Outreach also needs local volunteers to help.

Campaign spokesperson Matt Lambert said: “We are roughly half way through fundraising and have about half the volunteers recruited. We therefore could do with both financial contributions and people to come forward who can volunteer to staff the shelter from 8.00pm to 7.00am.”
